New Google Buzz API features

api google New Google Buzz API featuresGoogle has rolled out powerful developer tools for Google Buzz, amongst others the much saught after Google Buzz ‘firehose’. The Firehose offers developers the opportunity to see all public activities grouped into a single area, as frequently requestedby its’ users, enabled according to the Buzz blog by the syndication via PubSubHubbub.

Amongst the wealth of development pilots jumping onboard to make the most of the new firehose, the Buzz blog puts Bob Aman’s Twistori inspired Buzz Mood in the spotlight. In the same way Twistori interacts with Twitter, Buzz Mood locates key words posted in buzz messages and follows and lists them in a vibrant multicoloured-on-black-backdrop scrolling feed, enabling users to get involved in popular threads and subjects of interest, analysts to endulge in monitoring the “mood” of Buzz, as well as providing an additionally obvious marketing potential. Other Firehose enthusiasts include Gnip, Collecta, OneRiot, PostRank all of whom provide a range of interfaces, varying from more of a pure social media approach, to scrolling breaking news feed-esque infosites, to social media analytics and aggregation tools.
